I connected with a veteran not to long ago at House of Brews who I just met that night. He shared his experience while being in service during post Hurricane Katrina. I told him I really appreciated his service he gave and I too wanted be of service to others. What I didn’t tell him is that I would never join the military nor advocate for anyone else to join the military. Than I asked if we can trade objects as symbol of sharing our visions. He was thrown off and didn’t really know what to give so he paused for a bit than he reached for one of his Dog Tags and he gave it to me!!! Total stranger!! It said “Army Values: Loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personal courage. ” Than I was surprised and thrown off lol I realized I am aligned with those values and so grateful no matter where or who love comes from #armylove #HappyVeteransday
